The Shade Sail is a large banner with a shadow that creates a sunlit path on the ground below and frames a continuous line in the sky. The banner has two distinct shapes that become indivisible as a cast shadow on the ground. Similarly, the two mirrored lines within the shapes are united as one path of light on the ground and as a continuous line of background and sky.

Visiting the Shade Sail:

Take a moment to document(take pictures or video) of your unique moment and perspective of the Shade Sail—the light and shadow, the environment.

Take a moment, or as much time as you’d like, to simply be and observe the light, the movement, the stillness, without ‘capturing.’

As a mirror image of itself the line can be followed or traced like a labyrinth, but instead of walking into the center and back out, you can follow the line toward the center and back out through a different vantage point.
